The AMC Squad - Custom Maps

The AMC Squad is a mod-turned-game, completely free, running on the legendary Build Engine, same that runs old classics like Duke Nukem 3D, Blood, Shadow Warrior, or the newer Ion Fury!

A somewhat story-focused game, unlike to its contemporaries that are being called "Boomer Shooters", the game does have just as much great FPS action gameplay too. As the "Best FPS Game Nobody Ever Heard Of", I love this game, and shown my love through the custom maps I made for it!

My first ever map I fully made in the old, but classic 2.5D engine, Build; or to be more precise, its eDuke32 updated version, the same that was running the game "Ion Fury".

The idea behind this map is visiting the island of Atlantis, that just recently re-emerged from under the ocean. The idea was ancient, underwater plant covered ruins, that now are slowly drying out overland. And of course, Atlantis had to be more advanced than should be.

With Build Engine having a limit to the number of walls and sectors, eventually the map had to be cut into two, which did enable for me to focus mostly on the exterior island in this first part.

Atlantis Arisen Part 2

This map will be officially available in the Episode 5 release of the game!

Second half of the Atlantis map, expanded to be bigger after it was cut from the first half.

Now the action moves into the bases and the city of Atlantis itself, changing the pace a bit, as instead of the semi-horror mystery of the first half gives way to sci-fi.

Despite having the map separated from the first due to limitations, eventually this one also hit the very limits of the engine.

An experimental map set on a large highway, involving maglev trains, and platforming atop moving cars!

It's the Build Engine "fake" train maps taken to an extreme with very different gameplay.

It was also a personal challenge map for me, as I gave myself a deadline of only two weeks to make this!
